Very nice spot for overnight. Campground is well kept. The sites are shady and well spaced. Would recommend this campground. Office people were very friendly.
We were really disappointed with this WV state park. Most of the electric sites that we could fit in (35'), were quite unlevel and even with blocks and jacks, couldn't level it out. There was a dog at one of the campsites that barked for 4 hours, and nothing was done. There are some nice hiking trails, and a fun golf course. The pool is not close by and they charge $3 a person even if you are staying in the park. We will not go back.
This is one of our favorite campgrounds and we drive from Florida to enjoy it. Many of the campsites in loop C overlook the lake and can be reserved. There are no sewers, but the bath houses are very clean. In the past we have really enjoyed the beach and lake swimming, but this year the lake was way down. The swimming wasn't as nice due to a muddy bottom, rather than the usual sand, but we still enjoyed it. There is no cell phone service.
The park is extremely well kept. There are both shaded and sunny sites, with the majority in the shade. The people at the front desk are outstanding. They go out of their way to help. We would definitely stay here again.
